Apr 19 (GHS) - Senior Night. Boswell. Opportunity to lock up the 7-5A #2 spot. Home crowd. Perfect weather. Final tune up for Rivalry Week. Sprinkle in 85 pitches by a lefty, flawless defense, and timely hitting. What do you get? The complete recipe for the Mustangs to shutout the Boswell Pioneers 6-0 pushing their record to 21-6-1 (10-2). Junior LH Isaac Logan continued his excellent season by getting ahead in the count, and making the opposing batters put balls in play. Logan was 4H/0R/5K/0BB/7.0IP threw for 72% strikes.

In the bottom of the first, Logan reached first on an error by Boswell's second baseman. Senior Cyrus Campos followed with a non-textbook sac bunt that went over the pitcher's head to the perfect spot on the third-base side of the mound resulting in what could have easily been scored an infield hit. Logan advanced to 3rd and Campos to 2nd on an errant throw by the pitcher. Senior Alex Vergara stepped into the box and drilled a 1-0 line drive to LF for a single. Robert Antonetti followed up with a 2-run single to RF and the Mustangs were out of the corral. Vergara finished 3/3 2RBI R, Senior Tommy Wilson was 2/3 R SB, and Senior Wesley Flatt was 3/3 RBI R.  The Mustangs take on Colleyville Heritage Tuesday night at GHS 730pm.
